Screenwriting

I was a recipient of the highly coveted NZWG Seed Fund Grant in 2022 (funded by the NZ Film Commission) and am currently developing my feature film under the guidance of screenwriting legend Rachel Lang. It is the story of a troubled young boy who believes he is Salvador Dali reincarnated. If you are interested to know more, please reach out.

As well as my own projects, I work with clients to translate their ideas for film or television scripts onto the page. I can help you with everything from researching initial concepts to character development and episode prelims to writing pilot episodes, first drafts and final scripts. I can even re-write and polish existing scripts that aren’t working for you.

I have written short films, feature films, animation, children’s television, comedy, drama, TV adverts, a school musical and a science show, among other things. As long as I love and believe in your concept (no horrors please), I’ll help you get it ready for production.

Copywriting

Five years launching high-end beauty brands at Harrods in London followed by two years as a Brand Manager at L’Oreal provided me with a rigorous copywriting training ground. Whatever your brand and whatever your market, I pride myself in creating scrumptious words for the hungry minds you’re targeting.

Special note for small businesses: I love my big shiny clients, of course, but nothing makes me happier (other than a glass of bubbles and a view of the sea) than helping start-ups smash their launch out of the park. A close second is getting stuck in with a re-brand. I work very quickly and being self-employed means that my rates are darn reasonable. Sound good? Let’s talk.

Journalism

As Marketing Director for a luxury beauty company in London, I was tasked with writing and editing the Harrods publication Beautique. I also spent 4 years editing the professional beauty glossy BeautyNZ. Both jobs involved a small team turning out terrific magazines, so I gained a huge amount of experience across the board. Recent magazine commissions include an article on the iconic jewellery house Fabergé for Partridge Jewellers, a story on powder skiing in Japan for WORLD magazine and a story on post-cancer breast reconstruction for The Beauty Book. I pride myself on articles that are meticulously researched and written with heart.

Sub-Editing and Proofing

What I wood like to say, if you dont mind me saying, is that almost always and usually on tuesdays, mystakes are embarasing, and jaarrring two the eye, no? YES! Leaving that waffling, typo-filled sentence on the page is excruciating for me! This word nerd charges by the page rather than by the hour for sub-editing and proofing, and it is one of my passions. Seriously, like getting splinters out and popping pimples, there is nothing more satisfying than polishing a page of copy until it shines.
